About David Ellefson

Grammy Award winning bassist David Ellefson has been a mainstay in the heavy metal community for over 30 years. Internationally acclaimed as the co-founding bassist of Thrash Metal titans MEGADETH. David has recently released his autobiography My Life With Deth through Howard Books/Simon & Schuster.

The autobiography tells of David’s Minnesota farm life and Lutheran upbringing but follows his path into drug addiction while pursuing his dream of rock stardom in Hollywood during the 1980s. A return to his faith in Jesus Christ in 1990 brought him back from the depths of addiction and restored his family and career.

My Life With Deth also chronicles Ellefson’s transition into ministry work. In 2006 he founded the MEGA Life! Ministry in Scottsdale, AZ and was also a seminary student enrolled in training at Concordia College in St. Louis, MO from 2011-2012.

The 12-time Grammy nominated Megadeth, have recently garnered the award for “Dystopia”, the title track of their 15th studio album.
